css.gg

css.gg is a unique open-source icon library created by Astrit Malsija that pioneered the concept of icons built entirely with CSS. Originally launched as the world's first icon library designed by code, css.gg uses CSS pseudo-elements, borders, and transforms to render each icon without relying on SVG paths, icon fonts, or image files. The library has grown to include over 700 icons and earned nearly 10,000 GitHub stars. What makes css.gg distinctive is its multi-format approach. Every icon is available in five formats: pure CSS (using just a tag with a gg- prefixed class name), SVG for standard vector usage, SCSS for Sass workflows, TSX as styled-components for React projects, and PNG in both black and white variants.
